It is with great pride and a sense of communal accomplishment that we announce today that St. Bruno Parish School is a winner of the Archdiocesan Exemplary Award for Mission and Catholic Identity. After several months in the application process, a year-long delay of our official Archdiocesan visit due to the pandemic, and a two-day evaluation process in March 2021, we have received the phone call from Dr. Kathleen Cepelka, Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.
The Exemplary Recognition Program in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee is based upon the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Schools. In the category of Mission and Catholic Identity, as in all categories, these standards and benchmarks served as the lens through which each school was uniquely viewed and experienced by the evaluation team.
Special commendations include our ‘Belong, Believe, Become’ initiative, Father Dan’s presence impacting the spiritual culture of the school, the clear evidence of faith in our school environment and staff, communication between school and community, and even our daily pledge - The Wildcat Way!
The award will be presented on Friday, October 8, 2021 at the Archdiocesan Educators’ Convention at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee. We may claim - and proclaim! - this award for five years.
I express sincere thanks to the staff members, school parents and parishioners who participated in the interviews with the Archdiocesan team who visited us.
Let us proclaim this recognition with pride!
