The Catholic Community Foundation has as its mission to promote, sustain and enhance the mission of the Catholic Church, especially in southeastern Wisconsin. Through the generosity of this foundation, St. Bruno Parish School has received a grant of $10,000 to be used for Tuition Assistance for those students unable to afford the full tuition for attending St. Bruno Parish School. We would like to thank the Catholic Community Foundation for this grant and will use these funds to help them in their goal of promoting the mission of the Catholic Church. Greetings to the St. Bruno Parish and School community,
I am thrilled to be a new part of the St. Bruno community. I am Mary MacDonald, principal of St. Bruno Parish School. Summertime has already been productive and full of positive energy, and I have learned what a great team we have in the school and parish offices. I come to you from St. Charles Borromeo School in Burlington where I served as principal for the last four years. Before my work as a Catholic school principal, I taught music in the West Allis-West Milwaukee Schools. I am excited to bring to St. Bruno my passion for learning, for helping others grow, my care for children and, from time to time, a musical contribution.
First priority at St. Bruno Parish School will continue to be the St. Bruno School mission of achieving academic excellence in a faith-filled community. I am already collaborating with our dedicated and caring staff toward that most important goal. If you have not visited our school recently, why don’t you stop in and see St. Bruno School in action this fall? Even better, invite friends and family members to consider St. Bruno for their children - there’s still time! This summer, I have met a good number of parishioners, and look forward to getting to know you, too.
The school staff, Mrs. Price and I are working on the best organization and staffing for St. Bruno School. We are very pleased to welcome Ms. Erin Mulligan as our new sixth grade homeroom teacher and specialist in Social Studies and Science. At this writing we are in the interview process for our fifth grade teacher and a part-time teacher to assist in grades K5-4, are seeking one teacher aide, and are very much in need of staff for our before and after school care programs. (Could this be you? Please see the bulletin announcement.) In addition to a strong academic and faith environment, I will ensure that we have consistent communication with staff, students and families so all are ‘in the loop’ with expectations and procedures.
Parishioners and school families, we need your involvement during the school year with everything from prayer support for our students and teachers to visiting school on special days such as Grandparents’ Day, and also coming to school occasionally to pitch in on a special project. Thank you in advance for your continued support of St. Bruno Parish School. I look forward with great enthusiasm to a very successful 2018-19 school year!
Lastly, to our school families, please refer to the letter sent by Mrs. Price about forms, procedures, school supplies, uniforms, etc., for your planning. I look forward very much to meeting all new school families on August 21 and ‘veteran’ school families on Aug. 23!
Working to bring blessings on your families,
Mary MacDonald
